What will your child learn?


POON DOJO teaches Nei Chuan (Internal) Martial Arts © - a system based on a combination of 30 years of training in Karate & Internal Kung Fu.  This approach is a unique system, which essentially allows an individual to defend themselves using the principles of the Internal Martial Arts.  Hence, allowing the practitioner to use the force from their attacker against themselves.  Nei Chuan Martial Arts was also devised specifically to suit the physical and mental development of a child.  Therefore, allowing children to equip themselves with the necessary skills.

What is the Ethos?


POON DOJO is a student centred, non profit and non political organisation. POON DOJO believes strongly upon working in partnership with parents therefore reinforcing family values .  We see all students as part of a big family and encourage them to value this.   Children are encouraged to display respect and etiquette towards each other and for this to be brought into their everyday lives.

What are the Standards?


POON DOJO is a Professional Martial Arts Body, maintaining the traditions of the Martial Arts.  We provide our own membership for all students and regulate the standards.  The POON DOJO assessment board is made up of two 5th Dans, two 3rd Dans, a 2nd Dan and two 1st Dans – this ensures the highest standard and parity across the school.  All teachers of Poon Dojo are fully qualified and are CRB checked.  The Director of POON DOJO is an established educator working for the University of East London training Primary school teachers.  This ensures excellence of teaching and learning at POON DOJO.



What are our Achievements?

POON DOJO has produced fine martial artists, some of whom have now become Martial Art teachers.  We are also proud of the professional achievements  of our students, including: Marketing Manager, Graphic designer, Semi Professional footballer, Trainee Paramedic, Law degree student, Scientist...  POON DOJO prides itself in playing a part in guiding young people to strive for excellence and to fulfil their potential in all aspects of their life.
