Occupation: Technical Program Manager on Automotive Applications

 

Sarfraz started at Poon Dojo in 2005 at the Stratford HQ.  He has since gained the qualification of 1st Dan and continues to assist at Poon Dojo.  He graduated to Master Ding Academy Stratford City in 2008 and continues his training with Sifu Ko Poon.  He also regularly attends the annual instructors' retreat which is led by Master (Sigung) John Ding and Master Alan Ding.

Being at Poon Dojo had an impact on just about every aspect of my life. My job can be stressful but the skills developed during training has helped me to manage this. The spirit of respect, courtesy and perseverance fostered in the Dojo is something I try to reflect to the outside world. It has given me an extended family and a welcoming environment to train.

Anything else you feel is important for the general public to know in regard to your martial arts journey:
I have a BEng Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering with Automotive design. I have previously worked at Ford, Aston Martin and now work for a large international automotive supplier as a Technical Manager. I am currently learning to skateboard and find the principles of Tai Chi Chuan are transferable to helping me balance and adapt to a new activity.
