Having little self confidence or the ability to speak out or stand up for herself, I decided that my daughter should participate in a form of Martial Art as this would not only assist her in these issues but would also provide discipline, routine, the ability to follow instructions as well as her learning self defence.

Poon Dojo was recommended to me to me by a friend, who had attended the school many years ago because of their unique way of teaching. Discipline plays a major part within Poon dojo not to mention respect for one's peers.

My daughter has been attending the school now for almost two years and thoroughly enjoys the classes. There were times when she wanted to give up but persevered and cannot bear to miss a single class now.

I would highly recommend Poon Dojo to anyone wanting their child to learn martial arts or self defence. Not only are the sensei's passionate about the art itself but they are dedicated to maintaining high standards within the school through discipline and continued training.

​Our children have attended the Poon Dojo for the 3 years. They have really enjoyed their time and have come  a long way in their training and have now attained purple belts.

This is due to both the respect and work ethic instilled in the children from day one. Merits are not given out for the sake of it and all children have to demonstrate that they earn their belts.

Hard work is very much appreciated and showing a good spirit is essential, the level of respect expected and demonstrated by all persons of the Dojo is something to be appreciated.

This Dojo does not only teach you Martial Arts, it teaches respect for both yourself and others. It makes the student understand that what they are learning is to be used only for self defence and never in anger.

This gives them a sense of responsibility and respect for what they undertake and makes them appreciate what they are learning.  Overall, I am very satisfied with this Dojo and appreciate the effort and consideration given to both my children and all the other members of the Dojo.​
